It’s too cold, dark, wet, dirty. You’re too busy, tired, broke, gearless. You don’t know where to go, how to go, who to go with. Yeah. We hear you. There are a ton of good (and not-so-good) reasons to stay inside. For the first three weeks of 2018, we asked you why you can’t come outside and play with us. And we promised we’d do something about it.
These are the best of your buts. And some great answers (if we do say so ourselves).
But weather …
… isn’t always to blame. Your gear usually is the problem. And we have plenty of answers: hiking in the rain, backpacking in the rain and cycling in the rain are good places to start.
But time …
… is a-wastin’. That’s why you have to get outside. Right now.
But gear …
… is necessary. It’s why we got into business. Donna asked for some gloves, and we had just the pair. You can find all of our buying guides here.
But how do you …
… even start to do these outdoorsy things? It’s actually easy. Try a class or learn online.
But family …
… always comes first. And that’s why we’d like to help you learn to layer up those kiddos. We also have advice for how to get started camping and backpacking as a family and raising the next generation of adventurers.
But injuries …
… can be debilitating. And honestly, we think you should rest up so you can enjoy the outdoors soon.
But school …
… is important, and expensive! We suggest headlamps for after-class excursions and even more learning.
But there is no plus size clothing …
… and that’s not fair. We’re working hard to get you more sizes to close that gear gap.
