Last weekend we challenged our Instagram community to show us what winter camping looks like in their neck of the woods. We wanted to see and hear why they willingly choose to venture out in the cold.
We think Ted Sindsinski said it perfectly: “…why do I / we love doing this? It’s obviously cold, remote, and there’s no lodge to hang out and grab a warm drink in at night… And yet by removing almost everything, you get a chance to just just experience the world. That’s what does it for me… That one bar of chocolate I brought, the warmth of crawling into my sleeping bag, the sunset to just watch, all in some place free from the usual worldly concerns and just waiting to be explored.”

We had a record number of people participate and share their winter camping experiences. We’ve picked a handful of our favorites to showcase here.
