Kat Carney is an outdoor photographer who can often be found hanging on a rope, diving under waves or on a mountaintop with her camera. Her work has appeared in Outside, Backpacker, Matador Network, Adventure Journal and more. She previously worked as a photojournalist documenting life in the small Midwestern town of Chanute, Kansas. When she is not traveling for work (or shooting love stories), she teaches photography workshops. REI member since 2009.
