Marisa Herrera
Marisa Herrera is a Chicana who grew up in the rural mountains of southeastern Arizona where her father and family members taught her to be a steward of the outdoors. It’s also where she learned to identify native plants, hunt, fish and hike along the Gila River. She earned her doctorate from USC and has worked in higher education for more than 20 years. She circumnavigated the world with Archbishop Desmond Tutu in 2010. REI member since 2014.
