Ted Alvarez

Seattle-based writer, editor and storyteller Ted Alvarez is the author of three books, including the recent The Wilderness Idiot: Lessons From An Accidental Adventurer, which kind of says it all. In addition to being the Science and Environment editor at Crosscut, his work has appeared in Outside, Alaska Airlines Beyond, Men’s Health, and Backpacker, where he is also the magazine’s Northwest Field Editor. He also hosts and co-produces The Explorist, a podcast about how we change the outdoors and how it changes us. REI member since 2004.
