Zack Harold is a freelance journalist and lifelong West Virginian. His work has appeared in The Guardian and The New Republic, among other publications. He spends his time camping with his wife and daughter in West Virginia’s beautiful parks, hiking in the New River Gorge or scuba diving in Summersville Lake — “the Little Bahamas of the East.” REI member since 2017.
