Anatomy of a S’More

Take your s’mores to the next level with this step-by-step guide for budding campground gourmets.

How to Make S'Mores

1. Graham cracker

Even a gourmet s’more needs a good dose of tradition. Feeling rebellious? Grahams come in cinnamon and chocolate too. Just sayin’.

2. Chocolate

Sacred fruit of cacao tree, reserved by the Mayans and Aztecs. Go traditional or get creative. Dark chocolate with chili, salted caramel, mint? Your imagination is the limit.

3. Marshmallow

What’s in it? Let’s not dwell on that. Skewer on the whittled stick or stainless steel road. Place over campfire. Marshmallow catching fire is totally OK. The more burned, the better. Stack and smoosh well.

4. Make it gourmet

Add crispy bacon for a nice smoky crunch. Spread on smooth or crunchy peanut butter. Reach nirvana with chocolate spread and strawberry. Shake it up with lemon curd or apple butter.
