Editor’s note: Please consult the CDC or your state health department for advice related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including information on symptoms, testing and how to protect yourself and others during social distancing. Follow local guidelines regarding travel, and check access to local, state and national parks before you visit. Remember that outdoor recreation has inherent risks; don’t attempt activities beyond your experience and skill level. Your actions may present risk not only to you, but to your local community during these challenging times.

From our most beloved national parks to local trail systems, state and federal land managers across the country are temporarily closing facilities, suspending services and restricting access in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19. As you look to stay informed about impacts to our parks and potentially find ways to get outside while social distancing—staying local, avoiding crowds and adhering to your community’s guidelines—here’s a list of known national and state park closures. We’ll keep updating the list as more closures and changes are announced, but be sure to check each national park and state park system’s webpage for the latest information.
