Weekend 1440 Project – Every Trail Connects

There is a tangible feeling that you have as you finish tying the laces on your hiking boots and take your first steps down the trail.

Maybe it’s the smell of the trees and wildflowers, the rushing sound of a nearby river or the laughter of friends. Trails are the highway to adventure, and they connect us with each other and the great outdoors.

Last weekend we asked our Instagram community to share how they connect with their favorite trail.  We received fantastic submissions and we’ve chosen a few of our favorites to share with you. Enjoy!

The trail to Wedgemount Lake really felt like a testament to how far I’ve come in the past months. I’ve always loved nature, but I’ve also always been extremely cautious, timid, and I never would have, a year ago, thought that I would be exploring places like this. I’m happy to say now that I feel at home in the back country, I love the challenges of the trails, and I enjoy pushing my limits and discovering that just beyond my fear, there are breathtaking places. This weekend at Wedgemount, besides being stunningly beautiful, made me feel like I’ve taken my life back from where I was at the beginning of the year. I love who I am, and I’m ever excited for what lies ahead.
